Hi Beautiful Friend,

We traveled to Asheville for Thanksgiving and since we drove I brought along my Vitamix.  Starting the day with a green smoothie kept me feeling balanced and grounded.

Below is one of my new favorites.  It contains blueberries filled with antioxidants, cucumbers for a boost of alkalinity, banana for a bit of sweetness, almond butter for protein and spinach for a dose of greens. Add cinnamon to help regulate your blood sugars and ground flax seed or psyllium husks for extra fiber.

Berry-Green Smoothie – Serves one

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½-1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 TB almond butter
  • 1/2 banana
  • ½ cucumber peeled and diced
  • 1 cup spinach (or other green)
  • 1 TB ground flax seed or psyllium husks (optional)
  • Cinnamon to taste

Blend almond milk and greens until smooth. Then add other ingredients and blend to creamy.
