Last night I was craving PIZZA! Instead of ordering out, we whipped up homemade pita and tortilla pizzas in less than 30 minutes. Super easy, delicious and cheap. Jason said it was a “win, win, win.” The best part is you can be creative by mixing and matching toppings. Each person can have a personalized pizza and kids love to design their own.
Ingredients:
- Pita, Whole Wheat Tortillas or Gluten Free Tortillas (I use Rudi’s Brand)
- Organic cheese
- Low-sugar pizza sauce (I used Whole Foods 365 Brand)
- Sliced Jalapenos (optional)
- Optional: Slice grilled chicken (Jay grilled a couple on the week so we had it pre-cooked for the week)
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Top pita or tortilla with a light layer of low-sugar pizza sauce. Add organic cheese and toppings of choice. I used jalapenos and Jay added chicken too. Place pizzas on parchment paper and bake for 8-10 minutes.
Have fun and share your favorite toppings in the comments section below.
BTW, you can totally make this a vegan or gluten free meal by using gluten free tortillas and dairy free cheese (Daiya Brand is my favorite).
Enjoy,
Jackie
