How often do you find yourself saying,

”I have to exercise.”

“I have to go to work.”

​​​​​​​”I have to take [insert kids name] to another birthday party.”

​​​​​​​”I have to go to the grocery, do the laundry, cook dinner, do yard work. “

​​​​​​​”I have to meditate.”

 

Instead of saying, “I have to” experiment with saying ” I GET to”.

Flipping “have” to “get” can change the energy of the activity and your perspective.

It puts you in CHOICE not obligation.

Choice is FREEDOM and LIGHT.

Obligation is pressure and heavy.

When it comes down to it, you don’t HAVE to do anything. Every action you take is a choice.

Test it out.  

1. Fill in the blanks. I have to _____________ ->  I get to ______________.

2. Then sit and take a few deep breaths until you feel your body settle in.

3. Say the “have to” sentence and notice how it makes your body feel. The say the “get to” sentence and notice if you feel different.

The first step is noticing how often you say, “I have to _________.” Awareness is power. Then you practice the “have” -> “get” word switch-a-roo.
