We’re deep in winter – right at the half-way point. How are you feeling?
If you’re constantly fighting winter instead of embracing its inward energy that’s inviting you to slow down, cozy up, and rest, then it will be a loooong rest of the season.
Natural has built-in medicine for us and it’s your job to listen.
The darker days and colder weather can make it harder to run around which can be frustrating if you fight it but replenishing if you lean into it.
Here are some ideas:
- Make soup (<- my favorite recipe)
- Read a book
- Go to bed earlier
- Meditate (<- simple video)
- Light candles
- Do yoga (<- hip and heart sequence)
- Declutter your house (I’m working on cleaning out my closet)
- Reflect on what’s working and what’s not working in your life
Use this time to nourish your mind, body, and soul. Clear out the mental and physical junk that’s weighing you down so that you can create space for healthier habits, more energy, and new routines.
Receive the gift that winter is offering – time to hibernate, be a homebody, and rest so that come spring you’ll have more energy.
If slowing down is uncomfortable for you – welcome to the club. We’re conditioned to be on the go, to be doing something, and plugged in. But how is that working for you?
You can choose to do it differently.
My body was talking to me after the holidays with some symptoms of stress so I’m listening. I’ve been mediating more, shutting off my phone, and set boundaries about when I’m working on checking email.
I’d love to hear how you’re going to slow down and embrace winter. Email me and let me know.
